Reasons “4” Woodworking was created from my passion of being in the shop. My father was a carpenter and I was practically raised on the jobsites with him. I loved watching how a round log could become furniture, floors or cabinets, and I was always interested in making new things from scrap wood left behind. My favorite class in high school was wood shop because then I could begin to use the large power tools, table saw, lathe, and drill press that I didn’t always have access to on the job sites, and I fell in love.

Over the years I was able to accumulate several starter tools, including the ones inherited from my father when he passed. With those I was able to play around and create little things like shelves and frames for friends and family. Then one day I watched You Tube and became intrigued by how epoxy could be used to accentuate wood. I acquired some walnut logs from a friend and found a local mill that would slab them. Those slabs sat in my basement drying for nearly 2 years before I made a single cutting board as a thank you gift for the logs.

My wife saw the potential I had and has encouraged me to pursue my dream of starting my own business. My 4 children have inspired my company’s title of “Reasons-4-Woodworking,” and my twins have taken quite the interest in helping me. With their help I am able to dive into the world of woodworking more seriously now that my retirement is approaching.

What began as a hobby has developed into a small family business where we are routinely making large epoxy river tables, serving/charcuterie boards, picture frames, coasters, shelves and more. We thank you for your interest in our products and for your support of an American made family company.
